hey ZENners, i need some encourgement to get back on track and get my wonderful z fixed and finished so i can drive it again.

i've been soooooooo distracted/frustrated/hindered by a female and its literally all i can think about. i've got all the parts i need (i think) i just need some motivation. don't really have a prob helping others, its just when i look at my own my care just isn't there anymore. i was doing GREAT before i met her, now i'm just blah.

The time for me to fix my car's problems (minus being an NA) is near. My car runs poorly and overheats after driving when it isn't cold/chilly outside.

LED reverse lights

So I was excited to get a set of LED reverse lights for the Z since I almost always back into my driveway and the stock reverse lights are a little weak. But before you get too excited about an improvement, this is actually setting up for a plan to resolve a design flaw in the reverse lights.

Here are the stock reverse lights, mid-afternoon:

Note that there are 4 openings in the center panel but really only 2 bulbs, one per side. This is where the "design flaw" comes in ...

Simple maintanance issues and problem that needs to be pinpointed

Alright, well the simple one that i think i already solved is a loose belt on the water pump and alternator. The belt randomly squeeks and it needs to be tightened, i know where the tension point is but needs tips on how to get leverage to tighten it.

Other problem, i think my brake booster is bad, i have breaks when im at a higher speed but not when im at lower speeds. I cannot pump the breaks to get break pressure and i have a full reservour and no air in the break lines. Honestly the ...

Well i got some more toys for the Z, some powertrix defroster vents to fix my dash, a hicas elimenator from Z1 and some much needed dif. bushings from energy suspensions, plus a brake master cylender rebuild kit and some new high temp freq. braking break pads. Ill take some pics and post them up asap. or more like when i get a chance to install all of it lol.

Yeah I said it....grrrrr...cars drive me nuts sometimes. I finally get one thing straightened out and then another one pops up.

Been waiting to fix the cam gears due to my rear main seal being out and figured I'd just due an overhaul and pull the motor and replace a lot of things, yeah yeah I know why not do a swap...cause I wanna build the Twin Turbo block before I swap her into the other N/A shell I have. Plus I want to keep my N/A as my Daily.

Anyhow so now I have a freaking fuel ...

The rear tires on my Z were horrendous. Was practically riding on the rim with the two back tires and because the alignment was screwed up, the inside of the front driver's side tire was also balding. So here's what was done today:

*Replaced three of the worn tires (fourth was in good shape with plenty of tread) with Raptors.

*Had new tire rods installed on both front tires.

*Had the alignment done.

Parts and labor came to $464.54 and knowing I won't be driving the "death ...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. My friend, Aaron (MuShu), from North Carolina came down for the holiday. We got some great pics of our babies I'll show you. Thanksgiving night we stayed up until 1 working on installing a navigation system in Aaron's Z. Then on Friday we took his Z out for a spin on 231 hitting 110 MPH at one point. That was fantastic and I hated that we had to slow down (very few other folks on the road so we were plenty safe). I love the sound of the spooling ...

Left for work this morning car was fine, shifted fine, Idle's fine.

Get halfway to work and I notice that when I shift down it goes straight to 3000 RPM. Shift up goes straight to 3000RPM. Shift down...straight to 3000RPM?

I have all gears and the only gear I can get into lower RPM is 5th. 1st thru 4th 3000RPM and up. Even in park the Idle is sitting pretty at 3000RPM?

I'm clueless as to what it could be right now. But I'd like to figure it out before I get off work so I can take ...

Just got back from driving the 370Z from Phoenix to Houston in the "Follow the Z Rally."

Attached is a reenactment with the 370Z's of another historic journey from nearly 40 years prior. I will probably regret this later on, but for now it needs to happen. I am disappointed to say, that my journey in the Z world has come to an end. I have been having things go wrong time and time again, and as soon as I fix one thing it seems two more issues present themselfs. I pray that someday when I am ready I will be able to get another Z and finish building my dream Z. Right now my Z is in really bad shape after an accident.
