| OK, I have always been a fan of tuning a vehicle my self, whether it be a piggy back of some sort, or an all out stand-alone system.
I have a Z1 ECU at this point, but I want to do some tuning myself. I live at 5,500 ft elevation and Z1 does not compenstate for elevation change. Also, I would like to do minor fuel and timing correction as I turn up the boost and use C16 (race gas). Anyone that does self tuning, your info would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking towards the APEXi SAFC-2, becasue if its ease of installation, ease of use, and I have used one before on other cars. I'm not interested in the APEXi NEO because you can only run one map. The SAFC-2 allows for multiple maps.

| I use GReddy e-Manage over the top of a custom flash ECM -- allows me to fine tune fuel and timing and save maps for all occasions/conditions. E-Manage also does data logging and real time displays (you can see where you are on the map at any time). If you get someone else to drive you can real time tune on the fly. _________________ Tere and the current Z Car inventory

| ya but the safc is something you wouldn't have to sell you left kidney for.
i have heard good things bout the safc, i think the problem i (personally) would have is that i'd boost way differently during different times of the year and nite and day differences.... during the nite and day lol. but it would be better than what i got now [nothing]
edit: i do have a the jwt ecu, with the primary and secondary map. but thats not adjustable |

| I used the SAFC-II, on my drift 240sx, and Time Attack Pulsar. I love it the SAFC-II was on NA on the Pulsar, and SR20DET with different street, and race map! _________________ 96 Twin Turbo |

| LOL... I must have a hundred maps -- a map for any occasion.
For street driving I have a general map for every season based on average temps.
For track, I'll remap for afternoon sessions due to higher temps. I have a whole set of maps for different temperature ranges -- generally in 5 degree increments.
Loading a map takes less than 30 seconds.
Total cost including my system add-ons was about $450. Not bad when you've got real time tuning and data logging capability. _________________ Tere and the current Z Car inventory

| i run the apexi as well but it was last tuned by Z1 and i dont touch it. still havnt got that class :-/

yep thats me too. to bad it seems like everyone that drive a Z lives thousands of miles away from me. |
