| just joined a local Z forum (BamaGZ), so i'll use the intro thread i posted there (and tweak it a little to make sense). hey everyone. like i said in the title, my name is Stephen Walton and i'm new to this forum, i currently live in Auburn, AL and i drive a Z32 slicktop. i've been on NICO since january (love it). for the five years before i came to AU, i was in montgomery, which is where my Z still resides. the Z is a 1991, red, 5-speed. so far the only notable mods are the JWT popcharger and HKS Hiper exhaust. why is it still in montgomery? overheating problems. not sure what it is and no one can tell me, so i'm replacing everything. and very soon. please see my thread in the Z32 section if you'd like to share some knowledge . here's the planned parts list: Z1 NA radiator (yea, forgot to mention it's an NA, sorry to disappoint ), Z1 dual electric fans, nismo thermostat, new Nissan OEM waterpump, AMS 4-piece pulley set with Nissan belt, Z1 chrome radiator hardpipe with silicone elbows/upper hose, and at the same time i'm going to put in the correct sparkplugs. can't wait til it's fixed. o, i'll also be a ricer and get an HID kit at the same time :p. after i get her up here to Auburn, i'm ordering an AMS short shifter, 1-piece driveshaft (probably by AMZ), and a Specialty Z x-pipe (if anyone wants my nearly new HKS h-pipe, just let me know. it's only a few months old). i've heard too many times how great a light 1-piece feels. and jerry on NICO inspired me, along with probably hundreds of others, to go for an x-pipe. i love the aggressive tone compared to H. anyway, no one really cares about anything i said; everyone just wants to see the pictures, right? yea, i would too. some of you may have seen it around montgomery a few times. so here you go: those above shots are the most recent. my dad cleaned my wheels for me and kindly mailed me the prints and digital copies! i haven't even seen it since then (but i will tomorrow! ) with a friend's old blue 3 and another friend's white 3. P.O.P. full custom suede interior. the dealership i got it from had someone do it and i don't know the details, but i do love it! huge plus to the car overall, i think. thought this was a neat picture. not good quality or anything, but still neat. that's an ebay strut bar that i'm removing when i install all the above parts. Slicktop FTW right after the wash for the first car show and at the first car show (monthly at flips) with my girlfriend. HKS. left side has a bent hanger. $20 fix and they'll be even. on my to-do list. a picture. well, there you have it. hope you liked them. this past weekend i went to IFO (Import Faceoff) in montgomery and a beautiful red TT caught my eye. the owner, reid/fairladyaffair, invited me here and said everyone here is really friendly and that not matter how dumb your question is, they'd be happy to help. sounds good to me. also sounds like NICO! |

| Reid is right! welcome to the site! nice intro. i bet the guys on 3ZC rag you for having a 'JDM' plate but no JDM tails or facia huh? well, we wont pick on you here BUT.. as for the bent left hanger? why not bend the right as well?! lol. looks like it would give you more clearance if you raised the right up to match. Nothing wrong with having an NA, actually i wish i had started on one and tracked the crap out of it before -attempting- to learn with my turbo Z. im drooling for an X pipe myself as well, if i wasnt, i'd be all over your HKS unit. why are you getting rid of the EbAy tower? do you have something to replace it with? again, welcome aboard to the ZEN! _________________ id rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. | thanks . idk about 3ZC, but yes, other people have lol. NICO doesn't. i'll be getting the tails/fascia and a "JDM" TT motor eventually, don't worry . left over right because the tip on the left is literally ON my bumper. i'm sure the heat isn't good, i don't like the tiny buzz when behind the car (barely noticeable, but still), and i think it would look better matching the right. well, that's understandable for you to say considering you never HAD an NA haha. NA BLOWS! at least when it comes to Z32s. i don't even know why they bothered. TT FTW. let me know if you change your mind about my H pipe! better low end torque, you know! X just sounds so much more aggressive. not in a bad or too loud kind of way though. i think it's just what my exhaust needs. as for the strut tower bar, 1. it's cheap. 2. it doesn't even fit right and there were hood clearance issues and still are (that's the main thing). 3. i don't notice a difference and it's just not worth it. i'll probably get something else one day. and again, thanks! _________________ -Stephen |

yeaup, i've chatted with him on myspace, but i've never seen his car around. maybe once, but i don't think so. i thought you were in montgomery, too. did you move? i swear i saw your car before. parked near San Marcos mexican restaurant. my girlfriend and i were checking it out. mostly me. then you (i think you anyway) left a minute before i did, and i passed you in my Z.

I know know exactly who you are...lol. I remember seeing cherry Z in San Marcos parking lot and saw you all standing there. Figured I'd leave ya be instead of drooling all over the Z...lol.
Yeah I moved back north to PA back in June. Some things went down and I decided it was for the best.
As for Blacktwin's Z. You may have seen it around, it's been a while since it's been on the road. Four years I think. He's getting alot done to it. I believe he said he was taking it to ZSolutions yesterday (?) to get the fuel system hooked up and tooned, so it's running. Not sure, we'll hear from him when it does get going though _________________ another day another notch in the Z belt...lol |

| thanks and thanks. i'd give you some info on the interior, but it's pretty much what you see it what you get, other than the dealership in FL i got it from had someone else do it. that's all i know. whoever did it did a great job . it's the seats/doors/center console/glove box/shift boot/ebrake boot/steering wheel (half leather)/beside seats and behind seats. too bad they didn't do the roof - then i'd be pimping. lol. actually that would be stupid... another strange thing i noticed about the interior are the floor mats. those are 1990 mats. 91 and on just said "Z". _________________ -Stephen |

| Hey man, good to see you made it, welcome to ZEN. I personally havnt had any problems with my jdm motor (yet cross your fingers) but some i have talked to have if i had the choice of dropping a turbo motor in my NA Z (if i had one) i wouldnt. I would spend a little extra money on the NA to TT conversion and go ahed and get one of Kyle's long blocks from import parts pros. The guy has been building Z motors for over 10 years and i know black twin and Tony both can attest to his work and friendly service as well as can i for smaller less cool projects lol. Just a suggestion for future refrence And hang on to the strut bar i have serious flex issues in my Z since Tony woke the thing up and not to mention the new turbos i also got from tony so you may not notice the diffrence now but once you update the motor and boost it up then put that strut bar on it after you get on it once, im sure youll notice some kind of diffrence im done rambling welcome again man and it was good to meet you thanks for the complement on my Z _________________ Many thanks to amys300zx for the sig and thanks to nate for the pics |
